The Kyiv Defence Council has temporarily banned entertainment and sports events in open spaces and in buildings without shelters, with effect from 00:00 on 10 September. The decision was taken due to the deteriorating security situation and forms part of a package of measures governing the operation of municipal services under various levels of air threat.

Which events are covered by the ban?
The restrictions apply specifically to the holding of events, rather than to the automatic closure of establishments. According to the city authorities, restaurants, entertainment venues and shopping and leisure centres will operate as normal and in accordance with the conditions set out in the government’s decision.
How transport and municipal services will operate
The city plans to keep services running whilst the yellow alert is in place One-Stop Service Centres and social services facilities, whilst educational and healthcare establishments will operate in accordance with current safety protocols. For passengers on trains arriving late, four bus routes will be organised from the Central Railway Station during curfew hours.
A tiered alert system has been in place in the capital since 6 September: a yellow alert indicates a drone threat, whilst a red alert signifies a large-scale drone, missile or combined missile-and-drone threat. At the yellow alert level, the green metro line will operate without restrictions, including across the South Bridge; at the red alert level, it will operate on two separate sections. According to the city authorities, road transport will continue to operate without restrictions.
