
The number of patients with ARVI and influenza has sharply increased in the capital

In the capital of Ukraine over the past week more than 10 thousand cases of influenza and acute respiratory viral infections were recorded, including COVID-19.
This is reported by the resource Life.kyiv.ua citing data from the city's health department.
Compared to the previous week, the number of patients increased by several hundred more people, which indicates a steady increase in the incidence rate among the people of Kyiv.
Who gets sick most often
Most cases were recorded among school-age children, especially in the 5-14 age group.
Doctors attribute this to a drop in temperature, an active educational process and insufficient vaccination.
Doctors call for caution
Doctors emphasise that most cases have moderate to severe course, However, the number of hospitalisations among the elderly is growing.
Residents of the capital are asked to adhere to preventive measures - wear masks in public places, wash hands frequently and avoid hypothermia.
«Currently, the most effective way to protect yourself is to get a flu vaccination and maintain basic hygiene. This is especially important for children and people with chronic diseases,» the Health Department said.
