Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga stated that the second Russian strike on the Bunge oil extraction plant in Dnipro was part of a campaign against American businesses and US economic interests in Ukraine. Two people were killed and five others injured in the attack. The plant, which produces «Oleina» oil, amongst other products, has suspended operations.

The Foreign Ministry links the attack to pressure on American businesses

The Foreign Secretary does not regard the attack as an isolated incident, but as part of a wider Russian campaign against US economic interests in Ukraine. According to him, just a few weeks earlier, Russian forces had attacked another US-owned business in the Sumy region.

Siberia called on partners to strengthen Ukraine’s air defences and step up international pressure on Moscow. According to the minister, these measures should force Russia to end the war and move towards meaningful diplomacy.

Bunge has been operating in Ukraine since 2002. The company states that it has an oil extraction plant in Dnipro and produces the «Oleina» brand in the country.
