On 12 September, McDonald’s opened its first restaurant in Bukovel — in the village of Polianytsia in the Ivano-Frankivsk region. The outlet is the chain’s tenth new restaurant to open in Ukraine since the start of 2026, and the 131st currently operating in the country. The restaurant will suspend operations during any air raid alert, the company’s press office reported.

Type of establishment and ways to place an order
The new restaurant covers an area of almost 477 square metres. Inside, there are approximately 280 seats. The dining area is open daily from 07:00 to 23:00, whilst «McDrive» accepts orders from 05:00 to 23:30.
You can place an order via self-service terminals, at «McDrive» or using the «Mobile Ordering» service in the McDonald’s app. This allows you to choose how to collect your order depending on how you’re visiting the restaurant.
The restaurant’s opening hours during an air-raid alert
Once an air-raid alarm is sounded, the restaurant will close. Staff and customers must proceed to the nearest shelter. The company will pay staff for the entire duration of their shift, including the time spent in the shelter.
McDonald’s in Ukraine It has not yet amended this rule for the new «yellow» alert level, under which some businesses are permitted to remain open during drone attacks. The company is considering revising its approach, but for the time being its restaurants suspend operations whenever an alarm is raised.
The resumption of operations after the curfew will depend on the situation at each individual establishment. Some of the chain’s restaurants have also temporarily switched to a reduced menu due to frequent and prolonged disruptions and delays in food supplies; the range of dishes on offer is determined individually for each restaurant.
New branch opening as part of the network expansion
The Bukovel outlet became the tenth new McDonald’s restaurant to open in Ukraine this year. Since the start of the full-scale invasion, the chain has opened 43 restaurants in the country.
Construction of the restaurant in Polyanytsia began on 20 November 2025. The project was commissioned by Bukovel Ltd, the company responsible for developing the resort. Its beneficiaries are Zakhar and Oksana Palytsia — the son and ex-wife of Ihor Palytsia.
The network in Ukraine is being developed by the foreign-invested enterprise «McDonald’s Ukraine Ltd», which is owned by the British company MCD Europe Limited. According to YouControl, the company’s revenue grew by 26.6% in 2025, reaching 21.3 billion UAH.
