McDonald’s, in collaboration with Lenovo, has unveiled an unusual wireless computer mouse modelled on the brand’s signature French fry packaging. The device’s casing is made from more than 60% of recycled plastic from old Happy Meal toys. The new product has been released in a limited edition of 4,000 units, with sales in China commencing on 22 October 2026. It costs 99 yuan (approximately $14) and 18 McDonald’s bonus points. Even before sales began, the number of pre-orders had already exceeded the entire production run.

What does the McDonald’s mouse shaped like a chip look like?
The device is designed in McDonald’s signature red and yellow colours. The lower part of the casing resembles a cardboard box bearing the chain’s logo, whilst the upper part is styled to look like a portion of chips. The scroll wheel is also red.
Despite its unusual design, this is a fully-fledged computer mouse designed for everyday use.
The device supports two wireless connection methods — Bluetooth and the 2.4 GHz radio frequency band. It also features silent buttons, three DPI sensitivity modes and a 380 mAh battery.
The set includes a special felt carrying case. It can be unfolded and used as a mouse mat.

How much does a McDonald’s mouse cost and where can you buy one?
Sales of the limited-edition collection have been organised exclusively for the Chinese market. The new product can be purchased via the official McDonald’s China app and the chain’s mini-programme on WeChat.
The company has spread the stock over two days — 22 and 23 October — allocating 2,000 sets for each day. Sales begin at 10.45 am local time.
The price of one set is 99 yuan and 18 loyalty programme bonus points. Each customer may purchase no more than two mice.
According to the Chinese technology publication IT Home, even before sales began the number of bookings has exceeded 6,000, although the total print run is only 4,000 sets.
At present, there is no confirmed information that the entire batch has been sold out. There are no official plans to sell the accessory outside China McDonald's nor did he announce it.
The mouse was made from recycled Happy Meal toys
The new product has become part of McDonald’s China’s environmental programme, «Reimagine Good Things», which was launched in 2021.
Its aim is to reuse the materials left over after the chain’s products have been consumed. Instead of being disposed of, the plastic is recycled into new products.
In June 2026, McDonald’s China announced a partnership with Lenovo to create a computer mouse made from old Happy Meal toys.
The collected toys are sorted, dismantled and recycled. The resulting material undergoes further processing, after which it is used to manufacture new plastic parts.
The company explained that the project is intended to demonstrate the potential for reusing plastic in the manufacture of consumer electronics.
As part of its environmental initiative, McDonald’s previously produced trays, flower pots and other items from recycled materials.
The new mouse has become one of the programme’s most unusual products, combining McDonald’s recognisable design with Lenovo’s technology.
