A radar system to detect approaching drones and missiles has been introduced in «Air Raid Alert»

Users can adjust the radius of audio alerts for aerial targets and view alarm statistics.

Two new features have been added to the «Air Raid Alert» app: «Approaching Radar» and «Target Statistics». Users can now set up audible alerts for approaching aerial threats within a radius of 10 to 50 kilometres, as well as view statistics on aerial targets and alerts. These new features complement the map showing the approximate trajectories of Russian missiles and drones, which was launched in October 2026.

Briefly about the main points

  • The «Air Raid Alert» app now features the «Approaching Radar» and «Target Statistics» functions.
  • The radar allows you to set up audible alerts for airborne threats within a radius of 10 to 50 km.
  • The new section on statistics contains data on aerial targets and declared alerts.
  • Information on air targets is transmitted by the Ukrainian Air Force via secure channels.

How «Approach Radar» works»

A new feature allows the user to select a detection range of 10 to 50 kilometres around where they are staying.

When the air target’s reading crosses a set threshold, the system emits an audible alert. The user can also customise the alert sound and the frequency at which it is repeated.

The radar operates on the basis of data from the official air raid warning maps. It shows the approximate locations of attack drones, cruise missiles and other aerial threats.

In the web version, the map must be kept open and active for the radar to work. Background alerts are not guaranteed.

What does «Statistics by Objectives» show?»

The second new feature is designed to display statistics on airborne threats.

In the relevant section, users can view information about aerial targets and alerts that have been issued. In particular, hourly statistics on targets, the number and duration of alerts, as well as data on their distribution across Ukraine, are available.

This makes it possible to analyse the air situation for previous periods, rather than being limited to current hazard reports.

Where does the app get its information from?

The «Air Raid Alert» app was developed by the Ukrainian companies Ajax Systems and Stfalcon, with the support of the Ministry of Digital Transformation. IT teams from the Ministry of Defence, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Air Force were involved in the implementation of the air target map.

The data is transmitted via secure communication channels and undergoes special processing. The map does not show the exact coordinates of aerial targets in real time, and there may be a delay in the information being received.

The Ministry of Defence emphasises that the map does not show all threats. In particular, it does not include ballistic missiles or targets travelling at speeds in excess of 2,000 km/h.

Therefore, the absence of warning signs in the vicinity does not mean that there is no danger. When an air-raid alert is sounded, you must proceed immediately to a shelter and remain there until the official all-clear is given.
