
Putin says Ukrainian forces are surrounded in Pokrovsk and Kupiansk - Kremlin's propaganda statement
During one of his speeches, the Russian dictator Vladimir Putin said. Ukrainian troops are allegedly surrounded in the areas of Pokrovska and Kupianska, and the Russian side is ready to «allow journalists - including Ukrainian and Western ones - to enter the cordoned-off zone».
«The enemy is blocked and surrounded. We don't mind the media, including Ukrainian ones, having a look at the scene,» Putin said.
The Ukrainian side does not confirm the statement
As of now Ukraine's official sources did not confirm the information about the cordon any units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in these areas.
Analysts suggest that such statements may be part of Information and psychological operations (IPO) Kremlin's efforts to destabilise public opinion in Ukraine.
Context.
Pokrovsk and Kupiansk are the areas where the high intensity of hostilities.
Earlier, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that in these areas the enemy is trying to move forward in small groups, using aircraft and armoured vehicles, but without significant success.
Statements about the «encirclement» of Ukrainian forces regularly appear in the Russian media without confirmation from independent sources.
