Incident at Brussels airport
As reported by BILD, in Brussels the airport was temporarily closed due to the appearance of drones in the sky. This resulted in a number of flights being delayed, including the flight of a Belgian minister who was on his way to a meeting to discuss methods of combating drones.
A curiosity during the «anti-drone» summit
It is ironic that the incident occurred just before a meeting dedicated to the protecting EU critical infrastructure from drones.
According to the publication, the minister had to travel by train to get there, which caused a significant delay in the meeting.
«The situation looked quite symbolic - even those who discuss the fight against drones cannot hide from them,» BILD notes.
Temporary closure of the airport
The emergence of drones has led to short-term restrictions on take-offs and landings were introduced, and flights were diverted to neighbouring airports.
After the inspection, the situation was stabilised and the airport resumed operations.
