The station is located at without external power for more than a month, This poses a constant threat to the safety of a nuclear facility.

During the ceasefire, repair crews check backup reactor cooling systems and diesel generators, that maintain a minimum level of security.
«The situation remains unstable. Even short power outages at a facility of this scale can have serious consequences,» said Grossi.
A constant threat
Zaporizhzhia NPP is the largest nuclear power plant in Europe and has been occupied by Russian troops since March 2022.
The IAEA has repeatedly warned that constant hostilities near the facility and power outages create an «unacceptable level of risk».
