The Government announced the restart of Energoatom and dismissed the Supervisory Board

The Government of Ukraine has decided to complete restart of the state-owned Energoatom company“, said. First Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Yulia Svyrydenko.

According to the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers, the powers of the current Supervisory Board of Energoatom were terminated“, and within a week new warehouse should be developed and submitted for approval in consultation with international partners.

• Dissolution of the current Supervisory Board of Energoatom.

• Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agrarian Policy have in one week period to submit candidates to the renewed composition of the board.

• The State Audit Service instructed to carry out urgent review of Energoatom's procurement and financial transactions“, the results of which will be transferred to anti-corruption authorities.

«We expect the results of the audit as soon as possible. The materials will be handed over to law enforcement agencies. The goal is to ensure full transparency and renewal of the company,» Svyrydenko said.

The decision was made after a series of corruption scandals around Energoatom“, which led to the resignations of the Supervisory Board members, in particular Timothy Milovanov, and to the criminal proceedings of the NABU and SAPO.

The government considers the company's restart to be a step towards restoring the trust of partners and society to a strategic energy institution.
