Vucic: war between Europe and Russia is becoming more and more inevitable
President of Serbia Alexander Vucic said. War between Europe and Russia “is becoming more and more inevitable”. According to him, the rising tension on the continent and the actions of political leaders indicate that European states are actively preparing for a possible conflict.
«I analyse the facts and come to the conclusion that these are not empty words. Everyone is preparing for something,» Vucic said, commenting on the security situation.
Context.
The statement came amid deteriorating relations between Russia and NATO countries, The Alliance's increased military presence in Eastern Europe and the ongoing war against Ukraine.
The Serbian leader has repeatedly expressed concern about the risk of the war spreading beyond Ukraine, despite Belgrade's officially neutral position.
Earlier, Vucic warned that Europe is “approaching a big bang”, and next year could be the most dangerous since the Second World War.
Reaction.
Experts believe that Vucic's statement reflects European leaders' growing fear of a direct confrontation with Russia, This is especially true after the increase in military budgets in the EU and the announcement of new defence alliances.
Despite this, official Brussels continues to insist that The EU is not seeking direct war, but only Strengthens defence in response to Russian aggression.
