The court ruled to take into custody Igor Fursenko, known by the nickname «Rusik», who the investigation suspects of involvement in alleged corruption in the awarding of Energoatom contracts“.

As the correspondent reported Public from the courtroom, the term of arrest is set until 8 January 2026, with the possibility of making collateral in the amount of UAH 95 million.


Context.

Ihor Fursenko is another person involved NABU and SAPO anti-corruption investigations, which refers to of possible schemes in the state-owned Energoatom company“.
Earlier, several people were detained in the case, including Dmitry Basov and Lesya Ustimenko, who are also suspected of money laundering through the company's back office.

According to the investigation, the suspects may have been involved in embezzlement of public funds and receiving kickbacks“ when concluding contracts with foreign equipment suppliers.


Reaction.

After a series of detentions in the Energoatom case“ the government announced the restart of the company, а President Zelensky called for the dismissal of ministers linked to the investigation, emphasising that “There can be no schemes in the energy sector”.

NSDC prepares decisions on imposing sanctions on those involved in the case, а State Audit Service has already started an audit of the company's procurement.
