CEO of Ukrenergo: the situation with electricity will improve in a few weeks
Chairman of the NEC «Ukrenergo's Vitalii Zaichenko said. The situation with electricity supply in Ukraine will remain difficult for several more days, however A noticeable improvement is expected in the coming weeks.
«I can't guarantee that the situation with electricity will improve in the coming days, but it will improve significantly in a few weeks,» Zaichenko said.
Current situation
According to the head of the company, power engineers work around the clock to restore grids and generation, damaged as a result of Russian attacks on energy infrastructure.
The main focus is on repairing substations, connecting reserve capacities and increasing electricity imports from the EU.
«Every day we are adding several hundred megawatts of capacity to reduce outages,» he added.
Forecast and plans
Zaichenko emphasised that Some stabilisation will be possible after the completion of major repairs and commissioning of additional supply lines.
However, according to him, it is not yet possible to completely avoid outages through high intensity of attacks and limited number of reserves.
