Employees of the TCC illegally transported men abroad

Employees of territorial recruitment centres are already illegally sending men abroad. The State Bureau of Investigation reported exposing a scheme to illegally transfer conscripts outside Ukraine in Ivano-Frankivsk region.

According to the investigation, two sergeants of one of the TCCs organised an illegal departure in September 2025 at least 10 men of conscription age.

Details of the scheme

According to the SBI, for $8 000 The servicemen offered the 44-year-old man a ride in a company car directly to the border with Romania. After that, he was to cross the Prut River at night in a thermal suit.

According to the investigation, the suspects used their official position, car and knowledge of the border area to organise illegal crossings.

Detention and investigation

The sergeants were detained during another attempt to implement the scheme. During the searches, law enforcement officers seized cash, documents and other evidence of illegal activity.

The issue of serving a notice of suspicion under the articles on illegal trafficking of persons across the state border of Ukraine and abuse of office. The defendants face long-term imprisonment.

Against the backdrop of martial law and restrictions on men leaving Ukraine, law enforcement agencies regularly uncover illegal border crossing schemes. The involvement of officials and military personnel in such schemes causes a particular public outcry.

The SBI emphasises that the investigation is ongoing and does not rule out the presence of other persons involved.
