On the night of 16 April, Ukraine suffered one of the largest air attacks in recent memory. Air defence forces destroyed or suppressed 95% enemy targets, the Air Force reported.
Attack scale per day
Between 15 and 16 April 2026, the enemy launched 703 air targets at the territory of Ukraine. This is one of the largest attacks in the recent period, the Armed Forces of Ukraine stressed.
As a result of the coordinated work of the air defence units, 667 attack vehicles were neutralised or suppressed, which is 95% of the total. The Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported in official Telegram channel.
Types of targets neutralised
The defence forces destroyed 19 X-101 cruise missiles and 8 ballistic missiles, including Iskander-M and S-400. In addition, 4 Iskander-K cruise missiles were neutralised.
The bulk of the attacks were carried out by drones of various types - 636 units in total, including Shahed, Gerbera, Italmass and others.
Air Force response
According to representatives of the Air Force, this air defence effectiveness was made possible by the coordination of units and the improvement of the system for responding to massive attacks.
