In its evening update for 16 July, the General Staff reported 199 combat engagements since the start of the day. According to this data, Russian forces carried out one missile strike using eight missiles, carried out 54 air strikes using 171 guided bombs, deployed 6,076 kamikaze drones and carried out 2,041 shelling attacks on positions and populated areas.

The command recorded the highest number of attacks — 25 — in the Pokrovsk sector. There was also heavy fighting in the Sloviansk, Kostiantynivka, Pivdenno-Slobozhanskyi and Huliaipil sectors. These figures reflect the course of hostilities as at 22:00 on 16 July and do not represent a breakdown of the morning’s casualty estimates by sector.
