The structure is also expected to coordinate the interaction of the bar community with government agencies and international partners.
Main tasks
Among the committee's priorities:
protecting the rights of victims of armed aggression,
legal support in cases of damages,
documenting war crimes,
international legal coordination.
Context.
Since the outbreak of full-scale war in Ukraine, the need for systematic legal support for affected citizens and the collection of evidence for international courts has increased significantly.
The creation of a specialised committee in the UNBA should strengthen the institutional capacity of the bar community in this area.
