Prosecutor General's Office launches investigation against MP Mariana Bezuhla on suspicion of high treason. This was reported by the deputy Sergey Taruta, who filed the relevant appeal. According to him, the prosecutor's office was ordered to do so by the court.
The case was opened after Taruta's appeal
MP Serhiy Taruta said that the Prosecutor General's Office had opened a criminal investigation into Mariana Bezuglya. He filed an appeal demanding to investigate the possible treason from the MP.
According to Taruta, the opening of the case became possible after the relevant court decision. The prosecutor's office received an obligation to launch an investigation.
Bezugla's statements and their implications
The investigation should find out whether Bezuhla's public statements to harm the Ukrainian military. In particular, it refers to her reports about the 72nd Brigade, which defended Vuhledar.
According to Taruta:
- After Bezuhla's statements about the 72nd Brigade, the planned rotation was disrupted.
- The Ukrainian military lost ground.
- Less than a day after she said she would «withdraw the brigade from Vuhledar», Russian troops moved reinforcements there.
Taruta adds that this is not the only such case involving Bezuglaya.

Mariana Bezuhla is a Member of Parliament. She has repeatedly made public statements about the situation at the frontline.
