A large-scale fire broke out in a nine-storey building in Druzhkivka, Donetsk Oblast, as a result of a Russian drone strike. Emergency workers rescued two people, and work was suspended due to the threat of repeated shelling.
Fire after a drone attack
In Druzhkivka, Donetsk region, a Russian drone hit a nine-storey residential building. The attack caused fires in apartments on the 2nd to 9th floors.
The area of the fire was about 300 square metres. Rescuers promptly arrived at the scene and began extinguishing the fire.
Operation to rescue residents
During the fire, firefighters rescued a woman and a man from an apartment on the second floor. Due to the heavy smoke, the people could not leave the premises on their own.
The victims were evacuated and provided with the necessary assistance. No other casualties or injuries have been reported so far.
Suspension of work due to a new threat
Due to the threat of repeated shelling, the rescuers were forced to temporarily suspend work on eliminating the consequences of the attack. Firefighters remain on high alert.
Local authorities are urging residents to follow safety rules and respond to air raid warnings.
