Deliveries will be financed by profits from frozen Russian assets in the EU
German defence concern Rheinmetall announced the transfer to Ukraine of additional Skyranger 35 anti-aircraft systems, to be financed by for funds received from the use of frozen assets of the Russian Federation.
According to the company, these systems will enhance mobile air defence The Ukrainian Armed Forces and will provide effective cover against drones and cruise missiles.
«The Skyranger 35 is a modern turreted gun that combines a 35mm cannon, guidance system and radar. It is capable of destroying air targets at low and medium altitudes,» Rheinmetall said in a statement.
Source of funding
The decision to use the proceeds from the frozen Russian assets was made within the framework of of the coalition mechanism to help Ukraine, which provides for the allocation of profits to military support.
Part of the funds was allocated specifically for Strengthening the air defence system, This is a priority ahead of the winter period.

System Skyranger 35 is mounted on armoured vehicles and is capable of covering mobile units even while on the move.
