President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has asked the White House and the US Congress to grant a licence for the production of Patriot missiles. Zelensky's request to the US for a licence to produce Patriot missiles
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy sent an official letter to the White House and the US Congress asking them to grant Ukraine a licence to produce Patriot missiles. He stressed that the United States currently produces only 60-65 anti-ballistic missiles per month, a volume that does not meet current security challenges.
Problems with US missile production and global threats
According to Zelenskyy, the current level of production in the US is too low, and this could lead to a crisis in different regions of the world. At the same time, Russia is increasing its own ballistic missile production, which puts additional pressure on the air defence system of Ukraine and its allies.
Patriot production in Ukraine as a strategic step
Zelenskyy emphasises that Ukraine has the potential to increase missile production Patriot. This will not only strengthen the country's defence capabilities, but will also help maintain security in the Middle East and other regions where the United States provides assistance. The absence of such support will make it difficult to create a European anti-ballistic missile system.
The importance of US support for Ukraine and the region
The President stressed that until Ukraine is able to produce European anti-missile systems, Ukraine needs the support of the United States. Granting a licence to produce the Patriot will expand its air defence capabilities, which is critical in light of the growing missile threat from Russia.
