An attack on Kryvyi Rih’s civilian infrastructure

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported a missile strike carried out by Russian forces on civilian infrastructure in Kryvyi Rih. The attack resulted in the deaths of three people and injuries to more than twenty others, three of whom are in a serious condition. Emergency services quickly extinguished the fire caused by the missile strike, but the consequences proved tragic.

“My condolences go out to the families and loved ones of those who have lost their lives. All those injured are receiving the necessary care,” said Zelenskyy.

He emphasised that every new Russian attack demonstrates that international pressure on the aggressor is insufficient.

The need for international support

Zelenskyy emphasised that any delay in implementing the agreements on supply of air defence systems and other defence equipment is costing Ukrainians their lives. The President emphasised the importance of the rapid delivery of air defence systems, as this is critical for the protection of the civilian population.

“Ukraine continues to propose diplomatic ways to end the war, but has not received any clear signals from Moscow regarding its readiness for peace,” he said in his address.

No response from Russia

Zelenskyy also emphasised that the Russian side has not yet provided a specific response to the proposals regarding negotiations and other measures to bring the war to an end. He called on the international community to continue stepping up political, economic and diplomatic pressure on the Kremlin.

“It is important that the world does not remain silent about the fact that Russia has still not taken a single concrete step towards ending this war,” Zelenskyy emphasised.
