Trump on the talks between Putin and Zelenskyy
Donald Trump, the US President, expressed his confidence in the readiness of Vladimir Putin and Vladimir Zelensky until a peace agreement is reached. According to him, although the road to this has proved to be a long one, he believes it is possible to end of war through diplomatic channels.
«Both Putin and Zelenskyy want to reach an agreement. It’s a shame it’s taken so long. I think something will come of it in the end,» Trump said during a press conference.
The US President also spoke about his lengthy telephone conversations with both leaders. He described a conversation with Putin as “very long and very good”. Trump then immediately contacted Zelenskyy, emphasising the importance of communication between the two sides.
Trump’s impressions of the war
Trump shared his thoughts on the photographs from the combat zone sent to him by the US Secretary of Defence Pete Hegseth. The American leader admitted that what he had seen had made a deep impression on him, and he asked that such material no longer be sent to him.
«I’ve seen battlefields. To be honest, I’d even like to say: ‘Don’t send them to me’. It doesn’t make a good impression,» added Trump.

Trump’s comments came against the backdrop of intensified diplomatic contacts between Washington, Kyiv and Moscow. The US administration continues to seek ways to end the war, emphasising the need to achieve a lasting peace that is acceptable to all parties.
