Attacks on petrol stations have become more frequent
The attack in the Zhytomyr region is taking place against the backdrop of a series of Russian strikes directly targeting petrol stations.
10 September, Russia carried out an attack using a jet-powered drone A UKRNAFTA petrol station in Kyiv. The company itself officially reported the attack.
On 11 September, Russian drones struck petrol stations in the Obolon and Dnipro districts of the capital. In the Obolon district, one of the targets was struck a second time.

The Kyiv–Chop route is of strategic importance for road traffic
