Google has launched 12 months’ free access to Google AI Plus for students at Ukrainian higher education institutions. The offer is available upon verification of student status via SheerID and includes advanced Gemini features, 400 GB of cloud storage, access to educational resources and content generation. You can sign up for it until 31 December 2026.

What tools are included in the package?
The student plan includes Gemini Omni and Gemini’s usage limits are twice as high, as well as 400 GB of cloud storage. The company also provides access to Gemini Live, interactive educational visualisations and tools for creating videos and images.
Users can create an unlimited number of study notebooks and add their own lecture notes, syllabuses, course programmes and other materials to them. Gemini is able to use these to generate personalised study guides, summaries, practice tests and flashcards.
The Gemini student hub brings together tools for organising study materials and planning exam preparation. However, Google warns that usage limits for these features may change.
Who is eligible for this offer and how to confirm your status
Students at higher education institutions aged 18 or over can apply for the scheme. To do so You must use your personal Google account, rather than a Google Workspace for Education account issued by the educational institution.
You must verify your student status via the SheerID service and add a valid payment method. This offer is available to both new users and those whose trial access to Google AI Pro, registered in 2025, has expired.
What happens after the free year?
Deadline design — 31 December 2026, whilst the free trial period begins on the day of activation. Once this period ends, the subscription will automatically switch to a paid renewal unless the user cancels it in advance. The Ukrainian Gemini website states a price of 224.99 UAH per month following the end of the free trial period.
You can cancel your subscription at any time. If, once your plan has ended, your data usage exceeds the free storage limit, you’ll need to free up space or sign up for Google One to upload new files.
Google also warns that Gemini’s responses may be inaccurate. Materials created by AI for training purposes should be checked, and the rules governing its use in coursework should be cross-checked against the requirements of the specific university.
