KABs struck the residential area of Sumy
Head of the Sumy City Military Administration Serhiy Kryvosheyenko reported that the Russian army had attacked The Kovpakivskyi and Zarichnyi districts of the city.
Strikes were recorded at two main locations. One of them is an industrial area; the other is a private residential area. There is significant damage to and destruction of buildings.
The footage released shows extensive damage: some residential buildings have been virtually destroyed, and the roofs and structures of neighbouring buildings have been damaged.
At one of the impact sites, there was also the cars caught fire. The fires are being brought under control by the emergency services.
Five people are known to have been injured

There have been communication disruptions in part of the city

Due to the security situation, public transport services have also been temporarily altered: buses on routes No. 57a and No. 62 are now operating on a reduced service.
The strike on 16 September was yet another attack by the Russian Federation on residential areas in Sumy. Just the day before, on 15 September, a residential building was destroyed and a 15-year-old teenager was injured as a result of a Russian attack on the city’s residential neighbourhoods.
