On the night of 20 September, a major fire broke out at a warehouse complex in the village of Sof’ino, in the Ramenskoye District of the Moscow Region. Russian local authorities confirmed that the warehouses caught fire following a drone attack. The Ukrainian company Fire Point stated that the strike on the logistics complex was carried out by FP-1 drones.

A fire broke out in some warehouse premises in Sofino
The head of the Ramenskoye Municipal District reported a fire at the warehouse complex Eduard Malyshev. According to him, storage facilities were hit as a result of the night-time attack. The fires were classified as third level of difficulty. Eight fire crews – a total of 26 people – were working at the scene.
Footage from eyewitnesses shows large flames and thick smoke rising above the industrial area. Monitoring sources have pinpointed the fire in the vicinity of the «Sof’ino» logistics technology park.
Fire Point has announced the launch of the FP-1
Ukrainian drone manufacturer Fire Point stated that the warehouse complex in Sof’ino had been hit by drones FP-1.
According to the company’s preliminary data, these are properties owned by the limited liability company «Modern Warehouse Technologies» (MWT). At the time of publication, this information regarding a specific warehouse operator had not been separately confirmed by the Russian authorities.
The SST’s official website states that its production and warehousing complex is located in Sof’ino, in the Ramensky District. The company’s presentation lists six main warehouse buildings with a total area of approximately 292,000 m².
The complex is used for the storage and wholesale of consumer goods and foodstuffs.
The Russian authorities have reported a large-scale attack
Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin reported overnight on the operations of the Russian air defence forces and the fall of drone debris. According to his statement, more than 150 drones, which were allegedly heading for Moscow, had been intercepted by morning. There is no independent confirmation of these figures.
Governor of the Moscow Region Andriy Vorobyov stated that between 03:00 and 05:00 alone, air defence and electronic warfare systems had allegedly shot down or jammed 249 drones across 17 districts in the region.
During that same attack, there was the facility has been damaged on the site of the Moscow Oil Refinery in Kapotnya.
A residential building has also been damaged in Sof’ino
The night-time attack had consequences beyond the industrial zone. According to the Russian authorities, in Sof’ino a drone also struck a three-storey residential block on Novaya Street. Six flats were damaged. The authorities reported that a 44-year-old woman had been killed and five people injured, including two children.
