On the morning of 22 September, footage emerged on social media of a large-scale fire near Odesa, which is believed to be linked to «Nova Poshta» warehouses. However, at the time of publication, neither the company nor the Odesa Regional State Administration had yet confirmed that the postal operator’s facility had been targeted again. The day before, Russia had attacked a distribution centre belonging to the Silpo chain in Odesa.

On the morning of 22 September, Ukrainian Telegram channels began sharing videos and photographs of a major fire in an industrial area near Odesa. The footage shows thick black smoke rising above large warehouse buildings. The reports claim that the facilities in question are linked to «Nova Poshta».
However, at the time of writing, no new official statement had been issued by Nova Poshta, the Odesa Regional State Administration or the State Emergency Service regarding damage to the company’s terminal on 22 September. Therefore, information regarding the ownership of the burning warehouses should, for the time being, be regarded as preliminary.
The day before, Russia struck a Silpo distribution centre«
A confirmed strike on a major logistics facility took place on the night of 20–21 September.
Silpo has reported that Russian forces struck the chain’s distribution centre in Odesa. The main thing is that none of the staff were injured. The company is assessing the impact of the attack and reorganising its logistics processes. A major fire broke out in the warehouses following the strike. More than 80 rescue workers, and their work was made more difficult by the threat of further attacks.
The Odessa Regional State Administration did not initially name a specific retail chain, reporting only that an attack had taken place on the warehouses of a supermarket chain. Later, «Silpo»… independently confirmed that its distribution centre had been hit.".
«Nova Poshta» in the Odesa region has already been attacked several times
Nova Poshta’s logistics infrastructure in Odesa has also come under repeated Russian attack in recent weeks.
On 31 August, the company confirmed that a drone had struck an innovative terminal in Odessa. As a result of the attack, a key sorting line equipped with European-standard machinery was destroyed; according to the company, this equipment could not be repaired. No one was injured at the time, and contingency logistics plans were put in place to ensure operations could continue.
On 12 September, the same area came under attack once again. «Nova Poshta» reported an attack by a «Geran»-type rocket-propelled UAV. A driver from a partner company and an employee of a contractor were injured.
Consequently, new reports of a possible fire at the company’s site have emerged against the backdrop of several confirmed attacks on the postal infrastructure in the Odesa region.
Could parcels be delayed?
For now. There has been no official statement from «Nova Poshta» regarding delays specifically caused by the events of 22 September.
Following previous attacks, the company has repeatedly stated that it has backup sorting capacity and can quickly reroute deliveries. After some of the attacks, deliveries continued as normal.
However, in the event of serious damage to a major terminal, there may be local changes to routes or sorting times. Customers are advised to check the current status of a specific consignment via the app or on the «Nova Poshta» website.
