On the afternoon of 28 September, Russian troops attacked the city centre of Dnipro. The strike hit a business centre, where a fire broke out following the impact. There are reports of casualties, and several people who may have been inside the building are not responding to calls. Emergency services are working at the scene.

News of the attack emerged at around 11.25. A fire broke out in the city centre following the strike. According to preliminary reports, a business centre has been damaged. Footage released shows shattered windows, parts of the façade destroyed and heavy smoke inside the building.
Head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration Alexander Ganzha confirmed that there were casualties as a result of the attack. The exact number was being clarified at the time of writing.
Several people are unreachable
Chairman of the Dnipro Regional Council Mykola Lukashuk reported that the strike had hit an area where there were many people.
According to him, several people have not been in contact since the attack. Local Telegram channels report that some people may still be inside the damaged building; however, there is currently no official confirmation that they are trapped under the rubble or inside the building.
Rescue workers and other emergency services are on the scene. Efforts to extinguish the fire and inspect the building are ongoing.
The type of weapon has not yet been specified
At the time of publication, the authorities had not disclosed what type of weapon Russia had used to strike the business centre. Details regarding the extent of the damage, the number of casualties and the condition of those affected are still being ascertained.
