Germany starts selling private bunkers in regular stores

After numerous warnings from politicians and the military about possible Russian aggression, the Germans began to actively buy «home bunkers».
The first models are already available in regular hardware stores - They can be ordered in the same way as household appliances or furniture.
What is a «home bunker»?»
The bunker has an area of about 16 square metres and walls as thick as 20 cm made of steel concrete.
The interior is equipped with four folding beds, toilet, shower, kitchen, as well as LED screen that simulates a window.
The lighting adjusts automatically depending on the conditions.
According to the manufacturers, the shelter can withstand Strikes by drones, mines and 107 mm missiles, and its underground part can protect against the effects of a nuclear explosion at a distance of up to 20 km.
Price and production
The cost of the bunker is from €50,000 to €150,000 depending on the configuration.
Production and installation takes approximately 70 days.
Orders are growing so fast that companies are already reporting queues for several months in advance.
«People want to be prepared for any scenario. Orders are coming not only from individuals, but also from communities that are building collective shelters,» says a representative of the manufacturer.
Why the Germans are preparing
According to surveys, about 40 % Germans believe that Europe faces a war with Russia in the coming years.
Following calls from the government to strengthen civil defence, the country has been actively upgrade old storage facilities and create private alternatives.
