Delays at border crossings in the Lublin Voivodeship
The longest queues were concentrated at border crossings in the Lublin Voivodeship. According to the Polish government portal granica, in its daily update on 17 October, the waiting time for lorries weighing over 7.5 tonnes was departure from Poland via Hrebenne it took 17 hours, via Korchova — 14 hours.
The day before, on 16 October, drivers in Hrebenne had been waiting for over a day, and in Zosyn — for around eight hours. A representative of the Lublin Customs and Tax Administration Michał Derus He reported that the delays primarily affect freight services from Poland to Ukraine.
Processing is suspended during air threats
According to Derus, there were nine air raid alerts in a single night, and further warnings were issued on the morning of 16 October. Most often, processing had to be suspended near Dorohusk and Zosyn.
The restrictions apply not only to goods vehicles, but also to passenger cars and buses. On 16 October, Poland’s Government Security Centre (RCB) issued a warning to residents of the Lublin Voivodeship regarding an air threat from Ukraine.
There were over a thousand lorries queuing
As of 16 October, 880 lorries were waiting to clear customs in Hrebennoye, and a further 250 in Zosyn. Since the border crossings resumed operations, the backlog of vehicles has been unable to clear customs quickly, as the customs clearance process for lorries takes longer.
Border crossings continue to operate despite temporary closures. Over the past 24 hours, customs officials in the Lublin Voivodeship have processed over 3,000 lorries and more than 3,700 cars.
Traffic queue information should be checked according to the direction of travel
The situation is different for cars and buses: on 17 October, waiting times on certain routes ranged from a few minutes to several hours. These figures may vary throughout the day depending on air raid alerts, the volume of traffic at the crossing and the speed of processing.
You can check the current status of a specific border crossing point on the Polish «granica’ portal or on the Ukrainian service ‘Queue» and on Nakordoni. Before travelling, it is advisable to select the relevant details based on your direction of travel and type of vehicle.
