The attack on Chernihiv on 23 October: what is known

On 21 October, Russian drones struck one of the city’s private businesses twice. During the first attack, a 54-year-old man suffered a barotrauma. A few hours later, Russian forces attacked the same site again.
A 61-year-old local resident who was near the scene of the explosion was killed in the second blast. According to the police, the man sustained fatal injuries near a shop.
Following these attacks, the police have launched criminal proceedings under Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — violation of the laws and customs of war.
