Lavrov's remarks were made against the backdrop of discussions about possible peaceful scenarios after a meeting of delegations from several countries in Alaska. Kyiv has repeatedly emphasised that Any agreements without Ukraine's participation are unacceptable, and real negotiations are possible only after withdrawal of Russian troops from Ukrainian territory.
Analysts view Lavrov's statements as an attempt at information pressure on Western partners and undermining trust between the US and Ukraine on the eve of new rounds of diplomatic consultations.
