Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland Radoslav Sikorsky said that Warsaw intends to close the last operating Russian consulate, is located in Gdańsk.

This step will be a response to sabotage on the Polish railway, The attack was carried out by two Ukrainian citizens who collaborated with the Russian special services.


Context.

Poland has repeatedly restricted the activities of Russian diplomatic missions since the outbreak of a full-scale war against Ukraine and the growth of security threats. Closing the consulate in Gdansk will mean complete termination of the Russian consular presence in the country.

Sikorski stressed that Poland would not tolerate any form of hybrid aggression, and the decision was made to protect national security.
