American actress Scarlett Johansson has agreed to star in a new Netflix thriller after almost a year of hiatus. Sources close to the production confirm that she has already signed a contract and taken the lead role.
What will the film be about
The project has a working title Silent District. The story revolves around an investigative journalist who accidentally witnesses a large conspiracy in a metropolis and finds herself in the centre of deadly events.
The filming process is scheduled for spring 2026 in Canada.

In recent years, the actress has reduced the number of her screen appearances, focusing on production initiatives and charity projects. According to insiders, her decision was influenced by a “very strong script” that she “could not ignore”.
