Polish President Nawrocki: agreements with Russia are impossible because its policy is based on lies
President of Poland Navrotsky said that any agreements with Russia are impossible, as the Kremlin's policy is based on «a complete lie». He said this during an official speech.
«We are dealing only with lies, the desire to destroy and kill. This is an important lesson for each of us», - said the Polish leader.
Context.
In recent months, Warsaw has repeatedly stepped up its public rhetoric on the threat posed by Russia, particularly after a series of sabotage and destabilisation attempts in NATO countries were detected. Poland actively supports Ukraine in matters of defence, air defence and sanctions pressure on Russia.
Nawrocki's statement is in line with the position of the Polish government, which insists that any real negotiations are possible only if Russia's aggression is completely stopped and there are guarantees of non-recurrence of attacks.
International resonance
Poland remains one of the most active advocates of Ukraine in the EU and NATO. The President's comments were widely reported in the European media, as they came amid discussions on long-term security guarantees for Ukraine and strengthening the Alliance's eastern flank.
