Druzhba oil pipeline blown up in Russia: explosion at Taganrog-Lipetsk section
Sources. RBC-Ukraine reports another explosion on the Russian Druzhba oil pipeline. The attack was carried out near the village of Kazynski Vysilky on a section of the pipeline Taganrog-Lipetsk.
According to preliminary information, the explosives were placed in such a way as to ensure remote detonation, which allowed the perpetrators to avoid detection. In addition, they used additional combustible mixtures, which intensified the fire and complicated firefighting after the explosion.
Context.
The Druzhba oil pipeline has been the target of attacks on several occasions. It is one of the key oil transportation routes that passes through the territory of the Russian Federation. Russian security services traditionally claim «sabotage», but there are no official details about the incident.
Previous explosions on this pipeline have caused significant disruptions to the operation of certain sections of the pipeline and led to local fires.
