Umerov - FBI - NABU: Media disclose details of closed talks in the US
During a recent trip to the United States, Ukraine's Defence Minister Rustem Umerov held private meetings with management FBI. However, according to the publication's sources ZN.ua, These contacts were not related to the peace talks.
Details of the meetings
According to ZN's sources, the meeting with the FBI director Kash Patel was organised through Turkish channels. Its content was allegedly related to a request not to provide assistance NABU in the case of a businessman Timur Mindich.
It is reported that Umerov was not alone at the meeting - he was accompanied by the deputy head of the SBU.
The context of the case
Rustem Umerov appears in the so-called «Mindich tapes». It concerns possible pressure on the Ministry of Defence in the case of a contract for the supply of bulletproof vests. As part of this proceeding NABU has already summoned Umerov for questioning.
No official comment has been made by the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, the FBI or NABU on the content of these contacts.
