
Investigation in Chernyshev case completed
National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine and Specialised anti-corruption prosecutor's office completed pre-trial investigation in the case of the former Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Communities and Territories Development Alexey Chernyshev and his alleged accomplices.
Details of the case
According to the investigation, the officials are suspected of implementing a scheme with a land plot in Kyiv, The land was intended for construction. According to law enforcement, the value of the land was undervalued by about five times, which could have resulted in losses for the state of more than UAH 1 billion.
Context.
The investigation believes that in exchange for facilitating the fraud, the former minister received apartments at reduced prices. The total personal benefit, according to NABU and SAPO, exceeded UAH 14.5 million.
Currently, the parties have access to the criminal proceedings for review. Upon completion of this procedure, the case is planned to be transferred to court.
According to the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent until proven guilty by a court verdict.
