After the outbreak of a full-scale war, the size of the so-called «envelope salaries» for MPs increased from 1-2 thousand to 5 thousand dollars per month. This was announced by the head of the Specialised Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office Oleksandr Klymenko.

According to the head of the SAPO, the results of the investigations 41 MPs received suspicions from the prosecutor's office.

Oleksandr Klymenko noted that the practice of unofficial payments existed even before the full-scale Russian invasion, but after 2022, its scale increased.

In some periods before the war, the amount of «envelope» payments could reach up to 20 thousand dollars per month, Depending on the political situation and the influence of individual MPs.

The issue of illegal financing of MPs regularly appears in anti-corruption investigations in Ukraine. The full-scale war, despite the public demand for transparency and accountability of the authorities, has not stopped corrupt practices and in some cases has intensified them.
