Galushchenko served with suspicion notice in Energoatom case«
To the former Minister of Energy and Justice Herman Galushchenko was served with a notice of suspicion. The former official himself said that he had previously had the status of a witness in criminal proceedings. Details of the alleged actions and procedural qualifications have not yet been officially disclosed.
The context of the Energoatom case«
In November, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine announced that it had uncovered a large-scale corruption scheme at the state-owned Energoatom.
According to the investigation, the organised group could have demanded 10-15% kickbacks« from contracts, as well as influence the company's personnel and financial decisions.
Herman Halushchenko also appeared in the investigation materials. Subsequently, he was removed from office, and later dismissed.
Further steps of the investigation
It is expected that law enforcement agencies will soon release the official details of the suspicion, and the court will determine the measure of restraint for the former official.
