President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Russia has begun to target Ukraine's water supply system, not just its energy infrastructure.

The President stressed that this is a deliberate expansion of the targets of Russian strikes on critical infrastructure.

Context.

Since the beginning of the full-scale war, Russia has been systematically attacking Ukraine's energy, transport and other civilian infrastructure. Attacks on the water supply could create additional humanitarian risks for the population, especially in winter.

The Ukrainian government calls on international partners to increase support for air defence systems.
