Security Service of Ukraine reported on the detention of assistants to Ukrainian MPs suspected of organising illegal schemes to evade mobilisation. According to the investigation, they helped people liable for military service to avoid conscription for a fee.
How the scheme worked
According to preliminary information, the suspects offered clients a «solution» to the issue of mobilisation.
The scheme probably included:
- preparation of fictitious documents;
- influence on officials;
- arranging deferrals or deregistration.
The cost of such «services» could reach significant amounts.
Actions of law enforcement agencies
Security Service of Ukraine carried out a special operation, within which:
- The suspects were detained;
- searches were conducted;
- documents and other evidence were seized.
The issue of serving a notice of suspicion and choosing a measure of restraint is currently being decided.
