Following the conclusion of the negotiations Volodymyr Zelenskyy gave a positive assessment of his conversation with the US President. He thanked Donald Trump for their joint efforts aimed at protecting Ukrainians and achieving peace.
«A good meeting with President Trump in the Oval Office. Thank you for everything we are doing together to protect the lives of Ukrainians and achieve peace,» said Zelenskyy.
At the start of the meeting, the Ukrainian president also expressed his condolences to Donald Trump following the death of the senator Lindsey Graham. Zelenskyy described him as a true friend of Ukraine.
Ukraine wants to manufacture interceptors for the Patriot system
One of the main topics of the talks was licences to manufacture interceptor missiles for Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems. Zelenskyy did not disclose the technical or financial details of a possible agreement, noting only that the presidents had discussed other ideas that could help Ukraine.
