The state of the economy directly affects success in war, Kirill Budanov said at the Business Wisdom Summit 2026. He stressed that creating stable conditions for business is a strategic task for the state.

Head of the Office of the President Kirill Budanov during his speech at the Business Wisdom Summit 2026, stressed that success on the battlefield is inextricably linked to the state of the national economy. According to him, a serious war is not only a competition between people and weapons, but also between economies. If the economy is weak or non-existent, the chances of winning are minimal.
Budanov emphasised that strengthening the economy should be a strategic task for the state. He noted that the development of economic potential is critical to ensuring the country's defence capability.
Business priorities
Budanov emphasised the need for stable and transparent rules for business. He believes that minimal government interference in the activities of entrepreneurs will help boost the economy.
