Emergency services of Ukraine can respond to calls on 2-5 minutes later, than before. This is due to a new security protocol being introduced for police and rescuers.

Why response times change

According to the agency, the new rules are intended to improve the safety of emergency service personnel when responding to potentially dangerous calls.
According to the updated algorithm, before arriving at the scene, the following will be carried out additional risk assessment, This can increase response times.
Who will work under the new rules
The new security protocol applies to several entities at once:
National Police of Ukraine
State Emergency Service of Ukraine
The Ministry of Internal Affairs explains that such changes should prevent new attacks against law enforcement and rescuers.
Context.

Similar security measures are already in place in many countries around the world where there is a risk of repeated explosions or ambushes.
