Armed attack during a search in Zaporizhzhia
Pros. information According to the National Police of Ukraine, on 11 June at around 15:40 in the Zavodskyi district of Zaporizhzhia, an armed attack was carried out against police officers during an authorised search of the residence of a suspect in criminal proceedings. The attacker suddenly used tear gas and knives, inflicting stab wounds on three law enforcement officers.
The use of firearms to stop an attack
Despite lawful demands to cease his unlawful actions, the attacker continued to offer armed resistance and posed an immediate threat to the lives and health of the police officers. To avert mortal danger, one of the officers used his service firearm. The attacker died as a result of his injuries.
The condition of the injured police officers and medical assistance
Three police officers with stab wounds have been taken to hospital. Medical staff are providing them with the necessary treatment, and their condition is currently being assessed. The relevant authorities are overseeing the treatment and rehabilitation of the injured.
