In the Bucha district of the Kyiv region, fires broke out in warehouse buildings and vehicles following a night-time attack by Russian drones. Whilst rescue workers were operating at one of the sites, a second drone strike was recorded. Despite the danger, the emergency services continued their fire-fighting efforts after carrying out a reconnaissance. The fire in the warehouse has been contained, and the clean-up operation is ongoing.

A secondary explosion occurred during the fire-fighting operation
The State Emergency Service reported that in the Bucha district Rescue workers have been working since last night at several locations simultaneously, where the drone strikes caused fires in warehouse buildings and vehicles.
At one of the sites, whilst the emergency services were on the scene, the following occurred: a second strike by a Russian UAV. After assessing the situation and carrying out a reconnaissance, the rescue workers resumed their efforts to extinguish the fire.
Despite the threat of further attacks, the fire in the warehouse building has been contained — its spread has been halted.
Thirteen cars were burnt out
At another location, the State Emergency Service put out a fire 13 passenger cars.
The attack also damaged a block of flats, where the blast wave shattered the windows. The Kyiv Regional State Administration separately confirmed damage to warehouse premises in the Bucha district.
Footage released by the State Emergency Service shows firefighters at work inside the damaged warehouse, where pockets of fire remain following the impact, alongside a significant amount of destroyed goods.
Air raid alerts are hampering the work of the State Emergency Service
The clean-up operation is taking place against a backdrop of a constant threat of further attacks. During an air-raid alert, personnel are forced to leave dangerous areas and move to safe places, and then, after the all-clear, get back to putting out the fire.
Units from the State Emergency Service of Kyiv Oblast and additional personnel have been deployed to the scene. The full extent of the damage is currently being assessed.
