The warhead of the missile fell near a residential building
During a night-time attack by Russian forces, the warhead of one of the missiles fell near a high-rise residential block in the Darnytskyi district of the capital. Bomb disposal experts from the State Emergency Service were called to the scene and removed the dangerous munition. Thanks to the swift action of the specialists, it was possible to prevent potentially serious consequences for local residents.
Several fires have broken out in the area
According to the Kyiv City Military Administration, several fires broke out in the Darnytskyi district as a result of the attack. Firefighters extinguished a fire in a garage and several cars, covering a total area of around 300 square metres. In addition, fires broke out near a residential building, on the premises of a service station and in a non-residential building. All the fires were promptly extinguished by units of the State Emergency Service.
Air defence systems were engaged against enemy targets
During the air raid alert, Ukraine’s air defence forces repelled a Russian missile attack. The Mayor of Kyiv Vitali Klitschko reported on the work AIR DEFENCE over the capital, and the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration Timur Tkachenko provided further details regarding the consequences of the shelling in the Darnytskyi district. At the time the official information was released, details regarding possible casualties were still being verified.
