Russian President Vladimir Putin is ready to meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, but only at the stage of finalising agreements. This was stated by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov on 22 April.

Kremlin's position on the meeting

Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said. Vladimir Putin ready to meet with Volodymyr Zelenskyy. According to him, the meeting is possible only when the parties reach final agreements on the settlement of the conflict.

Peskov stressed that there are currently no conditions for such a meeting. He noted that the talks make sense only at the final stage of decision-making.

Lack of political will in Kyiv

According to Peskov, Moscow sees no political will on the part of Ukraine to resolve the conflict. The Kremlin spokesman said that as of today, Kyiv has not shown any willingness to compromise.

He added that the Kremlin is observing the actions of the Ukrainian authorities and does not record any steps aimed at a political solution to the situation.

Conditions for negotiations

Peskov stressed that a summit meeting is possible only if concrete arrangements. According to him, negotiations without a meaningful result are meaningless for the Russian side.

He stressed that Moscow expects Kyiv to send clear signals of readiness for dialogue and compromise.
